Chip for payments and transportation

I would like to know what chip can be used on the card that can easily work with ATMs, tap & pay, and most importantly with transportation systems?

Appreciate your feedback.

For payment (ATM or POS) it shall be EMV chip approved by the payment schemes like VISA or Mastercard. For transportation, if you are targeting to use the same card it can be also with VISA/Mastercard etc depends on the infrastructure the transport operator has. if they have the infrastructure, entrance gates in metro station will be like a POS terminal in super market. You can an example here https://www.masabi.com/contactless-emv-ticketing/

Thanks for the reply. So the emv chip itself will act as a payment method on transportation systems? There is no need of a special kind of chip-like NXP P71 or something? and will is be Master Card or Visa who will do it from their end? What is it called?

No special chip is needed if your transport operator is working with open-loop EMV transactions. check https://blog.masabi.com/blog/what-is-account-based-ticketing

some transport operators are still not ready with EMV and uses closed-loop mechanisms where they use technologies like Mifare, Cipurse, Cepas etc.
